On a scorching hot Midsummer's day guests gathered, lots of them - the sun shone, swallows dipped the surface of the water and the scene was set for a picture perfect wedding ceremony at the lake.

A bridal boat bobbed up & down swagged in big pink peonies, paler roses & sweet sprigs of lavender beside a wooden jetty bedecked with matching flowers in giant rustic milk churns. Individual blooms with huge flower heads continued the theme, as accents of colour in small carafes hung each side of the walkway, and were echoed in the bride and bridesmaids' flowers.

 

Tom & Alice had already married legally elsewhere as they wanted the centrepiece of their big day to be a personal ceremony by the water's edge - led by one of our wonderful Cornish celebrants.

The lake dazzled behind them like a  perfect movie backdrop as their guests stood to watch the bride rowed in from a hidden entrance by her father & then witness their vows. All the while listening to the perfect accompaniment - acoustic guitar on the smaller jetty floating up the terraces into the surrounding trees...

After a tear jerking ceremony & throwing loads of natural confetti, guests walked a few seconds down the lane to sip drinks and nibble canapes in a woodland clearing beside a little stream.

It was paparazzi heaven as videographers & photographers captured everything from bird's eye views of the couple rowing on the lake to walking the woodland paths along the valley floor.

Children excitedly dashed about and the bride got a lift from her groom in a wheelbarrow before wending their way up to the main marquee. This was decorated with matching flowers and hoops of ivy above the dining tables, which were elegantly laid with hessian table runners & finely printed menus detailing the fish, meat & veggie options to come. Not long after everyone tucked into a tapas style wedding breakfast before dancing the night away to a live band - with the bride & groom busting some serious moves in front of a delighted crowd.

Next morning the fun continued - as detailed on the morning timetable everybody met up to leap in the lake & go swimming before breakfast at the campsite cafe - clear heads guaranteed!
